Module 1: Everything Is Possible
CASEL: Self-awareness
Learning objectives
- Explain the difference between a fixed belief and a growth belief about your own ability
- Rewrite a limiting statement as an adjustable plan
- Describe how a failed gate quiz fits an act-and-adjust cycle
Learn
A belief is a sentence you keep saying to yourself. Some of those sentences open doors and some of them close doors. "I am not a math person" closes a door. "I have not learned this yet" leaves it open. Neither sentence is a fact. Both are choices about how to describe the same moment.
Everything Is Possible does not mean everything is easy or that wanting something makes it happen. It means the size of your goal should be set by what you want, not by what has happened so far. Dream Big is the target. Act and Adjust is the method: try, look at the result, change one thing, try again.
In Talent Ready you already live this cycle. A gate quiz scored below 85 is not a verdict on you. It is data. The Study Path that opens afterward is the adjust step. The retake is the act step. A student who fails a gate and completes the path has done exactly what this mindset asks.
Worked example
Situation: A 9th grader takes the Tech+ baseline and scores 41 percent in the Security domain.
Fixed response
Security is not my thing. I will focus on the other domains and hope the exam goes easy on security.
Growth response
Security is my lowest domain right now, so it is where the most points are waiting. I will do the Security flashcards during Monday's certification block and retake the domain quiz Wednesday.
Why it matters: The second response names a specific action, a specific time, and a specific check. That is what Act and Adjust looks like on a calendar.
Flashcards
What is a limiting belief?
A sentence about yourself that closes a door before you have tried, such as "I am not a math person."
What does Act and Adjust mean?
Try something, look at the result, change one thing, and try again.
What does Dream Big set?
The size of your goal, based on what you want rather than on what has happened so far.
Mastery gate
Mastery gate — Module 1
Ten questions. 85% on the first attempt opens the gate. The retake in the same 24-hour window is practice.

Reflection
Write one sentence you say to yourself about a subject you find hard. Rewrite it so it names what you have not learned yet and one thing you will do this week. Keep it on your phone. It is not submitted.
It is not submitted.
Dinner table question
Ask at home: Ask someone at home about a time they thought they could not do something and then did it. What changed between the first try and the last?
En español: Pregunta a alguien en casa sobre una vez que pensó que no podía hacer algo y luego lo logró. ¿Qué cambió entre el primer intento y el último?
